How it works

  1. Keep “Name” as the first column and leave the rows blank, so one printing covers any week.
  2. Change the day headings if your week starts on Sunday, or replace them with shift names.
  3. Set the first column to dates and pick a start if you would rather have the dates printed on.
  4. Download and print. Pin it up and fill it in in pencil.

Frequently asked questions

Can I put the dates on it?
Yes. Set the first column to dates and give a starting date, and each row is labelled with a date instead of being blank. That suits a roster laid out one day per row rather than one person per row.
How do I make the shift columns wider?
Put |2 or |3 after a heading. “Name|3” makes the name column three times the width of a plain one, which is what leaves the day columns just wide enough for “09–17”.
Can I get tick boxes instead of writing space?
Yes — switch the cells setting to tick boxes, and every column after the first becomes a square to tick. That works well for an on-call rota where you only need to mark who is on.
How many names fit?
Sixteen rows on a landscape A4 sheet leaves a comfortable line to write on. Twenty-five still fits but gets tight for anything but a tick.
Is it free?
Yes. The free plan adds a small line at the foot of the sheet; Pro leaves it off.
