How it works

  1. Put the subject and the date it starts going round on the two lines at the top.
  2. Write the notice itself in the box — or leave the box empty and staple the notice behind the sheet.
  3. Set the rows to the number of people it has to reach, in the order it should travel.
  4. Print and send it on its way. The last person brings it back.

Frequently asked questions

What is this for?
A single copy of a notice that has to reach a list of people in turn, each of whom marks that they have seen it — the way a 回覧板 goes round a neighbourhood in Japan, or a policy note goes round a small office. It is cheaper than a copy each and it tells you who has not read it yet.
Why boxes rather than lines in the columns?
Because what goes in them is a seal, an initial or a tick rather than a sentence. Square cells are the right size for that and make the sheet readable at a glance. Switch back to lines if you want people to write more.
Can I leave the notice box out?
Yes. Delete the section and print the sheet as a cover for whatever you are circulating. That is the usual way when the notice is a document of its own.
Does the order matter?
It is the whole point. Put the names in the order the sheet should travel, and each person passes it to the one below them. If the order does not matter, an attendance-style grid is a better shape than this one.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The sheet is drawn in this browser, names and all.
