How it works
- Change the numbered columns to dates, weeks or session names if that suits the group better.
- Set the rows to the number of people, with a few spare.
- Every column after the first is a tick box, so each name gets a row of squares.
- Print it in landscape and keep it on a clipboard.
Frequently asked questions
- Should I print the names on it?
- The rows are left blank so one printing lasts a term and a new member costs nothing. If you want them printed, a spreadsheet and our Excel to PDF tool will do it — but then every change is a reprint.
- How many names fit?
- Twenty-five on a landscape sheet with ten sessions across, and the squares stay big enough to tick with a pen. Thirty-five fits if the columns are fewer.
- Can I mark late or excused rather than just present?
- Use the boxes as boxes and agree a mark — a tick for present, an L for late, a stroke for absent. That is what a paper register has always done.
- Is this a school register?
- It is a sheet of paper, and whether it counts as a register is a matter for whoever keeps the records. Nothing on it is stored anywhere.
- Is anything uploaded?
- No. The PDF is drawn in your browser.
- Is it free?
- Yes. The free plan adds a small line at the foot of the sheet; Pro leaves it off.
