Frequently asked questions
- How does the DuPont cycle go?
- Four nights, three days off, three day shifts, one day off, three nights, three off, four day shifts, then seven days off: 28 days in all. The crews are a week apart, so every day has one crew on days and one on nights.
- How many hours is that?
- Fourteen 12-hour shifts in four weeks: 168 hours, 42 a week on average.
- Can I carry it on into next month?
- Yes: keep the same start date and change the month. The pattern is counted from that date, so nobody gets two blocks in a row across the change of month.
- Is anything uploaded?
- No. The rota is made in your browser. On the free plan a small line with our name is printed at the foot of the sheet.
