Frequently asked questions
- What is a 12x36 schedule?
- Twelve hours on duty followed by thirty-six off, so each person works every other day. It is the standard pattern for Brazilian hospitals, security and care work, and common for 12-hour shifts elsewhere.
- How many hours a month is 12x36?
- Fifteen 12-hour shifts, 180 hours, in a 30-day month; 15 or 16 in a 31-day month, depending on which day a person starts. The PDF totals each person’s days and hours.
- How do I carry the rota on into next month?
- Keep the same “Cycle starts on” date and change the month. The pattern is counted from that date, so a 31-day month does not put anyone on two shifts in a row across the change of month.
- Is anything uploaded?
- No. The rota is made in your browser. On the free plan a small line with our name is printed at the foot of the sheet.
