How it works

1. Fill in your business on the left and the customer: the name on the first line, then the address. Add your tax ID if you have one.
2. Add the items, with quantity, unit price and tax rate. The preview (on the right, or below on a phone) is the PDF itself and changes as you type.
3. Set the date, the number and the due date, and your bank details for the payment.
4. Select Download PDF. The form is kept in this browser, so the next invoice starts from it.

Frequently asked questions

How is the tax worked out?

Once per rate, on the total of everything at that rate — the way VAT invoices and Japanese qualified invoices must do it — rather than line by line, which can be a cent or a yen out. The invoice shows, per rate, the amount taxed and the tax. Unit prices can be entered before tax or including it.

Can I write the invoice in another language?

Yes. Choose the language of the document: English, Japanese, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Korean or Turkish. The headings, the date and the amounts are written as that language writes them, and the usual currency and tax rate follow — you can change both.

Can I add my company seal or logo?

Yes: choose a PNG or JPG and it is placed beside your business’s name. A PNG with a transparent background looks best; the hanko maker on this site makes a seal like that. It is remembered with the rest of the form if it is under about 300 KB.

Is what I type uploaded or saved anywhere?

No. The PDF is made in this page and the form is remembered only in this browser, so next month’s invoice starts filled in. Nothing reaches our servers. With Pro, you can also save several sets — one per customer — and switch between them.

Is it a legally valid invoice?

It prints what invoices generally require — your details and tax ID, the customer, a number, the date, each item, the tax per rate and the total — and you fill in what is specific to you. Rules differ by country (a VAT number for the customer, a reverse-charge note), so add those in the customer lines or the notes where they apply.

What does the free plan allow?

10 downloads a day, with a small "Made with nouplo.com" line at the foot of the last page, which the preview shows too. Pro removes the line and the limit, and keeps saved settings for each customer.
