Add text and a signature to a PDF

How it works

1. Drop the PDF onto the box. Its pages appear below, ready to write on.
2. Scroll to the page you need and press Text, Date, Signature, Stamp or Image. The item appears in the middle of the page you are looking at.
3. Drag it into place and pull a corner to resize it. Select a text item to change its wording, size or colour.
4. Press Save PDF and download the filled-in document.

Frequently asked questions

Can I edit the text that is already in the PDF?

No. This tool adds new text, signatures and stamps on top of the page, the way you would write on paper. To change wording that is already in the document, edit the original file it was made from, such as a Word document.

Is the signature a digital signature?

It is an image of your handwritten signature, which is what most forms, delivery notes and internal approvals ask for. It is not a certificate-based digital signature that proves identity; contracts that require one need a signing service.

Does it work with Japanese and other non-Latin text?

Yes. Latin text uses Helvetica, and Japanese, Chinese or Korean text embeds a Noto font that covers it. That font adds about 1.3 MB to the file.

Can what I add be removed?

It is written into the page content rather than added as comments, so it prints everywhere and cannot be hidden by a viewer setting. Like anything in a PDF, it can still be changed with a full PDF editor.

Is the PDF uploaded?

No. Pages are rendered and written in your browser. Free PDFs end with a small “Made with nouplo.com” line on the last page; Pro removes it, along with the limits of 20 MB per file and 10 runs per day.
