How it works
- Fill in your name; the date is today unless you set it.
- Write a short summary: how many years, in what, and what you are best at.
- Add one block per employer, with the period, the company and what the work was. Use a line per duty or achievement.
- Add skills, qualifications and a closing paragraph about yourself, then download the PDF.
Frequently asked questions
- How is this different from the résumé (履歴書)?
- The résumé is a fixed form with your details, schooling and a short motivation. The work history has no official form: it is where you describe what you actually did and what you achieved. Most Japanese employers ask for both.
- Newest first or oldest first?
- Either is accepted. List the employers in the order you want them read — newest first is common for experienced applicants; oldest first reads as a story.
- How long should it be?
- One or two A4 pages. This runs onto a second page by itself when it needs to.
- Is anything uploaded?
- No. The PDF is made in your browser, and the form is kept only on this device.
- Does it carry your logo?
- No. A document sent to an employer never carries the free plan’s footer.
