Frequently asked questions

Which résumé format is this?

The sample layout the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare published in 2021 to replace the JIS form: the same fields, with gender optional and no family or commuting questions. It is the format Hello Work and most Japanese employers now point to.

Does it have to be in Japanese?

The printed form is Japanese, as employers expect. You can fill it in in Japanese, or type romanised names and English entries where you have no Japanese; a résumé for a Japanese employer is usually best written in Japanese.

Is my information uploaded or stored?

No. The PDF is made in your browser. The form is remembered only on this device for next time, and you can clear it by emptying the fields.

Does the PDF carry a watermark?

No. A résumé is sent as it is printed, so it never carries the free plan’s footer.

What photo size does it need?

Any photo is fitted into the 30 × 40 mm frame. For a sharp result, crop it to 3:4 first; the passport photo tool makes one to size.
