Frequently asked questions
- Are there remainders?
- None. Each sum is made by choosing a divisor and an answer and multiplying them to get the number being divided, so it always comes out whole. Generating at random and discarding the awkward ones is the usual approach and it leaks: one sheet in a handful arrives with a remainder on it, which a child who has not been taught remainders cannot do.
- Does it divide by one, or by itself?
- The divisor starts at two, so there is no dividing by one. The answer can be one, which gives sums like 7 ÷ 7, and those are worth having.
- What does the limit change?
- It sets how far the divisor and the answer go — the generator takes its square root — so "up to 100" gives divisors and answers up to ten and numbers being divided up to a hundred.
- Is every sheet different?
- Yes. Each press builds a new set at the same level.
- Is anything uploaded?
- No. The PDF is drawn in your browser and works offline once the page has loaded.
