How it works
- Drop a PDF onto the box or choose it from your device.
- Choose Add password to encrypt, or Remove password to unlock a file whose password you know.
- Type the password. For encryption it becomes the password needed to open the file.
- Press Apply and download the result.

- Is my password sent anywhere?
- No. Encryption and decryption run in your browser. Neither the password nor the file is transmitted.
- Which encryption is used?
- AES-256, the strongest option in the PDF standard, supported by every modern reader.
- Can this remove a password I do not know?
- No. Removing a password requires knowing it. This tool is for unlocking your own documents, not for breaking protection.
- What if I forget the password?
- There is no recovery. Keep the original unencrypted file somewhere safe.
