This tool runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and you can even turn off your internet connection before you start.

How it works

  1. Add the PDF. Any number of pages: it is padded out to a multiple of four with blanks.
  2. Choose the sheet. A4 landscape gives an A5 booklet, A3 gives an A4 one.
  3. Choose the binding side — right for a book read right to left.
  4. Print double-sided, flipping on the short edge, then fold the stack and staple through the fold.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the page order so strange?
Because that is what folding does. When you fold a stack of sheets down the middle, the first and last pages end up on the same side of the same sheet. The order here is worked out for you, which is the part that is easy to get wrong by hand.
Should I flip on the long edge or the short edge?
The short edge. The sheets are landscape, and short-edge flipping keeps the back of each sheet the right way up.
My booklet is thick and the middle pages stick out. What can I do?
Set a number of pages per fold — 16, say. The booklet is then made of several thinner folded sections, each stapled or sewn and gathered in order, which is how a thick book is bound.
What if the page count is not a multiple of four?
Blank sides are added at the front and back of the fold, exactly as a printer would.
