Sign a PDF

How it works

1. Drop the PDF you need to sign onto the box.
2. Press Signature and draw your signature in the box with a mouse, finger or stylus, then press Add to page.
3. Scroll to the signature line, drag the signature onto it and pull a corner to size it. Add the date or your printed name with Date and Text.
4. Press Save signed PDF and send the downloaded file.

Frequently asked questions

Is a drawn signature legally valid?

For many everyday documents, such as permission slips, delivery notes, leases and routine business agreements, an electronic signature like this is generally recognised: in the US under the ESIGN Act, and in the EU as a simple electronic signature. Some documents need more, such as notarisation or a qualified electronic signature. When in doubt, ask whoever requested the signature.

Can I sign on a phone?

Yes. A signature drawn with a finger on a phone or with a stylus on a tablet usually looks more natural than one drawn with a mouse. Drag the placed signature with your finger and resize it from a corner.

Can I sign in several places?

Yes. Add a signature for each place; every one can be moved and sized separately, on any page.

Is my signature stored?

No. It is written into this document only and kept nowhere else, so you draw it again the next time.

Is the PDF uploaded?

No. Pages are rendered and the signature is written into the PDF in your browser. Free PDFs end with a small “Made with nouplo.com” line on the last page; Pro removes it.
