How it works

Frequently asked questions

Will the text on the slides be editable?
No, and it is worth being plain about that. Each slide holds a picture of the page. Recovering editable text boxes from a PDF means reconstructing a layout that was thrown away when the PDF was made, and every tool that claims to do it produces something you then have to repair. A deck of page images is what is usually wanted — slides to present, annotate over or drop one page of into another deck — and it can be done exactly right.
What size are the slides?
The size of the PDF's first page, so a landscape PDF makes a landscape deck and nothing is letterboxed. If later pages are a different size they are fitted to the same slide, which is all a deck can express.
Why is the file large?
Because it holds a full-resolution picture of every page. Drop the detail to Screen, or use JPG rather than PNG, and it shrinks considerably. PNG is worth it only when the pages are mostly text and you will project them large.
Can I go the other way?
Yes — our PowerPoint to PDF page takes a .pptx and produces a PDF, and that direction does keep the text.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser — the files never leave your computer.
