Frequently asked questions
- Is notice required before an eviction?
- Not for an eviction for non-payment (Law 8.245/1991, arts. 9, III and 62), but it records the demand and gives a chance to settle before a lawsuit.
- Can the tenant stop the eviction by paying?
- Yes: once served, the tenant or guarantor may pay the updated debt with costs within 15 days and the lease goes on (art. 62, II).
- Is what I type uploaded?
- No. The PDF is made in your browser and nothing you type leaves your device.
- Is this legal advice?
