How it works
- Put in both people and an ID number each.
- Say what is being collected and from where — a tracking number or a reference makes it easy to act on.
- Download, print and sign it.
- Send them with it, plus a copy of your ID and their own ID.
Frequently asked questions
- Will a parcel depot accept this?
- Usually, with a copy of your identity document and the tracking number on it. Some carriers have their own form or an option in the app, and where they do, that is faster. This is for the rest, and for offices and shops that have no form at all.
- What should I write in the scope?
- The specific thing and where it is: "the parcel with tracking number 1Z…, held at the depot on Beispielweg". A specific instruction gets acted on; "collect my post" gets a conversation with a supervisor.
- Do they need my original ID?
- No, and do not send it. A photocopy or a photo of both sides is what is asked for. They will also need their own ID, which is the one that gets checked against the name on this letter.
- Can they collect something for a third person?
- Not with this. An authority passes from you to one named person; onward delegation — a sub-authority — is a separate thing and most counters will not accept it.
- Is it free?
- Yes. The free plan adds a small line at the foot of the sheet; Pro leaves it off.
