This tool runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and you can even turn off your internet connection before you start.

How it works

  1. Drop a PDF onto the box or choose it from your device.
  2. Pick Page ranges and type them like 1-3, 5, 8-10. Each comma-separated group becomes its own PDF. Leave the field empty to get one file per page.
  3. Or pick Every N pages to cut the document into equal chunks.
  4. Or pick Size limit and type how many MB each part may weigh, for instance 20 for an Outlook attachment or 25 for Gmail. Pages are measured one by one, then packed in order until the next one would go over, and each finished part is checked against the limit before you get it.
  5. Press Split PDF and download the files. Each output is named after the original with the page numbers appended.

Frequently asked questions

Does the split happen on a server?
No. Pages are copied into new documents by your browser. The file never leaves your device.
How do I extract just one page?
Type that page number in the ranges field, for example 7, and press Split PDF. You get a single one-page PDF.
Can I split a scanned PDF?
Yes. Splitting works on any PDF regardless of whether it contains text or images.
What happens to pages I do not list?
They are left out. Only the pages you list are exported, in the order they appear in the original.
How do I get parts small enough to email?
Choose Size limit and give the number of MB. Gmail refuses attachments over 25 MB and Outlook over 20 MB, so pick a little under the limit you are up against, since the mail itself adds a few percent when it encodes the file. If the document is mostly scans, compressing it first often means no splitting at all.
Why is one part bigger than the limit I set?
Because a page cannot be cut in half. A single page carrying a large scan or photo can weigh more than the whole limit on its own, and it comes back as its own part rather than as an error. Run it through Compress PDF first and the split will then fit.
Is there a page limit?
No page limit. The free plan limits file size to 20 MB and runs to 10 per day; Pro removes both.
